Setup Instructions
- Click the Edit icon for the book you want to have custom numbering.
- Open the Settings menu from the top right corner of the editor.
- In Settings, scroll to the Customization section and toggle the custom chapter numbering slider to the ON position (blue with the circle on the right).
- Click the blue SAVE button to confirm your changes.
Using Custom Numbering
Once enabled, a new text input labeled “Numbering goes here…” appears above the chapter title field when editing chapters. This field accepts up to 25 characters and supports creative labels beyond simple numbers.

Important Note on EPUB Imports
Importing epubs allows you to get the browser-based edition of your book set up quickly, but the system does not upload information into the custom numbering text box. If you wish to make use of custom numbering to provide additional clarity to your book structure, this information will need to be manually entered once the epub upload is complete. The formatting of the epub file is preserved if you choose to make the book available for downloads — the need for manual updating applies only to the browser-based version.
