Laterpress enables authors to enhance their book and collection descriptions with formatting options. The platform supports paragraph breaks, as well as bold, italicized, and underlined text, allowing descriptions to match professional publishing standards.
Formatting Book Descriptions

Copy and paste existing descriptions into the “Short Description” box on the Details page. Original formatting typically carries over, though manual line breaks may improve visual separation.

Highlight the text you wish to modify. A prompt appears with options for bold, italics, and underlines.

Multiple formatting styles can be applied simultaneously to the same text. Click your selection to apply changes.

Click the blue “Save” button in the upper right corner to preserve your edits.
Formatting Collection Descriptions

Navigate to the Books tab in your author account.

Click Edit on the collection you want to modify.

Enter your series blurb in the “Short Description” box.

Highlight text and select formatting options (bold, italics, underline).

Click Save to apply changes.
Character Limit
Both book and collection descriptions have a 5,000 character limit.
